Biography

Patrick Joseph Kearney is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 4th Plymouth District. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Kearney assumed office on January 2, 2019.

Kearney’s district comprises the towns of Marshfield and Scituate. He serves on several committees including the House Committee on Ways and Means, the Joint Committee on Cannabis Policy, the Joint Committee on Election Laws, the Joint Committee on Housing, and the Joint Committee on Ways and Means.

In addition to his legislative duties, Kearney is a commissioned officer in the US Navy Reserve. He is the son of former state representative Maryanne Lewis.

Kearney has sponsored and cosponsored several bills during his tenure, including those related to amending the charter of the town of Scituate, prohibiting billboard advertisements of non-prescription marijuana, banning purchases and consumption of Russian made products, tuition-free universal full-day kindergarten, fisheries conservation gear grant program, and protection of open space, historical resources, and community housing from coastal threats.
