Biography

Patricia A. Haddad, born on May 7, 1950 in Fall River, Massachusetts, is an American politician who represents the 5th Bristol district in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She has been serving in this position since 2000. Prior to her political career, Haddad spent 14 years as a teacher in Somerset, Massachusetts and was a member of that town’s school committee from 1993 to 2001.

In addition to her role as a representative, Haddad served as the Speaker pro Tempore of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from January 28, 2011, to December 30, 2020. Her professional experience also includes working in customer service for Haddad Electronic Supply, Inc. from 1986 to 2000.

Haddad is a member of the Democratic Party and has served as vice chair of the Somerset Democratic Town Committee. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State University and a Ph.D from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Her current term in the Massachusetts House of Representatives ends on January 1, 2025.
