Biography

Representative Gerry Cassidy was elected to the House of Representatives, representing the Ninth Plymouth District in a special election on March 1, 2016. He currently serves the City of Brockton, Ward 2, Ward 3: Precincts A, B, C, Ward 4: Precincts A, D, Ward 5: Precinct A, Ward 7: Precincts A, B.

Prior to becoming a legislator, Representative Cassidy worked as an aide for the late Senator Tommy Kennedy for 28 years. Over these years he learned the crucial skills needed to represent the people of his hometown. Through working with Senator Kennedy, Representative Cassidy was able to see the needs of the people and was inspired to help. Representative Cassidy previously sat on the Brockton City Council and currently serves on the Brockton Democratic City Committee.
