Biography

Frank A. Moran is an American state legislator serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 17th Essex District. He is a member of the Democratic Party. His office is located at the State House on 24 Beacon St., Room 481, Boston, MA, 02133. He assumed office on January 2, 2013, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Before his tenure in the House of Representatives, Moran served on the Lawrence, Massachusetts City Council from 2008 to 2013, including three years as Council President. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.

During his time in the House of Representatives, Moran has sponsored and co-sponsored several bills. These include legislation to provide financial assistance to certain residents to expand the availability of broadband internet connectivity, establish a bill of rights for individuals experiencing homelessness, and provide for a program of capital investments for vocational-technical education programs and regional vocational-technical schools, among others. He holds the position of Second Assistant Majority Leader.
