David DeCoste is a member of the Republican Party and represents the 5th Plymouth District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 7, 2015. His current term is set to end on January 1, 2025.

DeCoste ran for re-election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives to represent the 5th Plymouth District and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He was first elected to the chamber in 2014.

Over the years, DeCoste has been assigned to various committees. For the 2023-2024 tenure, he was assigned to the Operations, Facilities and Security Committee, Housing Joint Committee, Public Service Joint Committee, Joint Committee on Racial Equity, Civil Rights, and Inclusion, and the Transportation Joint Committee.
