Biography

Brian Michael Ashe, a member of the Democratic Party, is a representative of the 2nd Hampden District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He assumed office in 2009 and his current term is set to end on January 1, 2025. Ashe ran for re-election to continue representing the 2nd Hampden District and won in the general election held on November 8, 2022.

Ashe’s district includes all of Hampden and Longmeadow and part of East Longmeadow, Monson, and Springfield. Prior to his tenure in the House of Representatives, Ashe served on the Longmeadow Select Board from 2001 to 2008. He has also been a member of the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority Advisory Board.

Throughout his political career, Ashe has been assigned to various committees. For the 2023-2024 term, he serves as the Vice Chair of the House Bills in the Third Reading Committee and is a member of the Economic Development and Emerging Technologies Joint Committee, Public Health Joint Committee, and Public Safety and Homeland Security Joint Committee.

Ashe was born on April 23, 1963. He completed his education at Westfield State College and currently resides in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. His base salary as a representative is $73,655.01 per year.
