Senator Willis E Blackshear Jr. is currently serving in his 1st term as State Senator for Senate District 6, which includes Centerville, Dayton, Jefferson Township, Kettering, Miami Township, Moraine, Oakwood, Riverside, Trotwood, Washington Township, West Carrollton, Carlisle (part), and Springboro (part). He previously served two terms as the State Representative for Districts 39 and then 38 prior to becoming a State Senator.
Through his work in the General Assembly, Senator Blackshear hopes to help the business community in his district and bolster the workforce. Additionally, Senator Blackshear aims to prioritize families and find solutions to make living in Ohio more affordable while advocating for the mental health needs of Ohioans.
Outside of his official duties, Senator Blackshear attends church service regularly and participates with his faith community. He can be seen at local sporting events cheering on the talented athletes of District 6. A lifelong Ohioan, Senator Blackshear is a graduate of Wright State University and is currently pursuing his MBA at The Ohio State University.
