On August 7, 2019, Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garced was sworn in as the second female governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

In 2017, she was appointed Secretary of Justice of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Prior to being elected Governor, she served as the Secretary of Justice of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Gov. Vázquez Garced graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and the Inter-American University School of Law.
