Biography

State Representative Dr. Victoria Garcia Wilburn was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives on Nov. 8, 2022.

Victoria is a member of the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee as well as the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee and the Judiciary Committee.

Raised in a working class, union family in the Chicago suburbs, Victoria was a first-generation student and has earned a degree in occupational therapy, as well as a doctorate in health science. She has served as a clinician, health researcher and public health advocate in her community.

Through her years of professional service, Victoria has gained valuable insight into issues of public safety and health. She is committed to advocating for equitable access to mental and behavioral services for all Hoosiers, including increasing resources for those affected by substance use disorder. Additionally, as a mother and educator, Victoria promotes investing in our state’s public schools and supports gun safety laws.

Victoria moved to Indiana in 2005 with her husband Christopher, who served as a police officer. They have three children together.
