Tom Stinnett is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 20. He assumed office on November 5, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 3, 2026.

Tom Stinnett has dedicated his life to serving his community and upholding conservative values. A native of Tennessee, he pursued his education at East Tennessee State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education. He furthered his academic journey with a master’s degree in Safety from the University of Tennessee and an Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. His professional career spans over 37 years as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher, during which he made a significant impact on the lives of countless students.

Beyond his teaching career, Stinnett has been deeply involved in his community. He has served as a Meals on Wheels driver, a member of the Emergency Medical Service Board, and a volunteer with the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department. His commitment to public service is also evident in his tenure as a Blount County Commissioner, where he worked tirelessly to improve infrastructure, enhance public safety, and support educational initiatives.

Tom Stinnett’s dedication extends to his personal life as well. He has been married to his wife, Patricia, for over four decades, and together they have two children and three grandchildren. A devout Baptist, he is an active member of the Central Baptist Church in Alcoa, where he has served as a deacon and financial committee chair.

In the Tennessee House of Representatives, Stinnett continues to champion the causes he holds dear, focusing on agriculture, natural resources, and civil justice through his committee work. His leadership and unwavering commitment to his constituents make him a respected figure in Tennessee politics.
