Biography

Tom Moore is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 18 in the Iowa House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. Prior to this, he represented District 21 in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Born in Grinnell, Iowa, Moore’s career experience includes working as a K-12 teacher and a coach for football, wrestling, golf, and softball. He also worked as an assistant manager with the Southwest Iowa Egg Cooperative.

Moore ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 18 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He was first elected to represent the 21st district in the Iowa House of Representatives in 2015, in a special election to replace Jack Drake, who had died.

In terms of committee assignments, Moore has been assigned to several committees over the years. For the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the Economic Growth Committee, House Education Committee, House Human Resources Committee, and Labor Committee, where he served as the Vice Chair.

Moore’s dedication to public service and his extensive experience in education and management have made him a valuable member of the Iowa House of Representatives.
