T.J. Hardaway serves as a Democratic Representative for District 93 in the Tennessee state legislature.
The Shelby County Commission appointed Hardaway on May 6, 2026, to serve on an interim basis in the House District 93 seat held by his father, Representative G.A. Hardaway, who died on April 24, 2026. He was sworn in at the State Capitol in Nashville in May 2026, and the interim term runs until a successor is elected in November 2026. District 93 covers part of Shelby County. Hardaway holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis, and his career experience includes work as a medical courier.
