Suzanne L. Chretien, a dedicated member of the Democratic Party, serves in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Hillsborough County District 19. She assumed office on December 4, 2024, and her current term is set to conclude on December 2, 2026.

Suzanne Chretien has spent much of her life in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she has been deeply involved in her community. A retired school teacher and literacy coach, she dedicated over three decades to the Manchester School System, helping countless students develop essential skills and a love for learning. Her passion for education extended beyond the classroom, as she also taught English as a second language to newcomers through the Sisters of Mercy.

In addition to her professional career, Chretien has been an active volunteer and leader with the Granite State Organizing Project since 2014. This role has allowed her to advocate for solutions to pressing social issues, particularly those affecting individuals living in poverty and homelessness. Her commitment to public service is further demonstrated by her involvement in local government, where she has testified before the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the School Board on various issues.

As a single parent, Chretien raised two sons who attended Manchester Public Schools and later pursued higher education at the University of New Hampshire. Her family values and personal experiences have shaped her approach to policymaking, emphasizing the importance of education, community support, and collaboration.
