Steven Heffernan is a Republican serving in the Vermont State Senate, representing the Addison District. He assumed office on January 8, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 6, 2027.
Born in Burlington, Vermont, Steven Heffernan grew up on a family dairy farm in Bristol, where he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and community from his parents. These principles have guided him throughout his life and career. Heffernan is a proud veteran, having served in the Vermont Air National Guard for over three decades as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician. His military service included two tours in Afghanistan, where he demonstrated courage and dedication to his country.
In addition to his military career, Heffernan has been an entrepreneur, owning and operating several local businesses, including 802 Excavating, GHR Metal Recycling, and Heffernan Inspection and Repair. His commitment to his community extends beyond his professional endeavors; he has always prioritized spending quality time with his family and friends. Whether building a zip line for his grandchildren or creating a volleyball court for neighborhood gatherings, Heffernan cherishes the moments that bring people together.
