Thomas Stephen Tarvin, known as Steve Tarvin, was born on June 2, 1951, in Chickamauga, Georgia. He is an American politician from Georgia and a member of the Republican Party.

Tarvin has been serving as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 2nd District since 2014. He assumed office on February 11, 2014, succeeding Jay Neal.

Before his political career, Tarvin attended the University of Georgia. He has also been the President and CEO of Crystal Springs, a textile mill in Chickamauga, Georgia.

In his political career, Tarvin has had several notable achievements. On February 4, 2014, he won the special election and became a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives for District 2. He defeated Neal Florence with 53.86% of the votes.

As an incumbent, Tarvin won the election unopposed and continued serving District 2 on November 4, 2014. He repeated this feat on November 8, 2016, and November 6, 2018, where he defeated Michelle Simmons with 99.9% of the votes. On November 3, 2020, Tarvin won the election unopposed and continued serving District 2.

Throughout his tenure, Tarvin has sponsored 64 bills. The American Conservative Union gave him an 80% evaluation in 2019.

On a personal note, Tarvin’s wife is Jennifer Tarvin. They have two children and live in Chickamauga, Georgia.
