Biography

Stephen L. Goldfinch (born November 19, 1982) is an American politician. He currently serves as a member of the South Carolina Senate from the 34th District, a position he has held since 2016. Goldfinch is affiliated with the Republican party.

Before his tenure in the Senate, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives for four years. His legislative work spans various committees, including the Senate’s Finance Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Fish, Game and Forestry Committee, and the Rules Committee.

Outside of politics, Senator Goldfinch practices law at his firm, Stephen Goldfinch Attorney at Law. He resides in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and is a graduate of The Citadel (B.S., M.B.A.) and the Charleston School of Law (J.D.). Goldfinch is married to Renee Bodie, and they have two children, Hadlee and Stephen III “Tripp.”

Despite sustaining an injury during a National Guard deployment to Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti in 2023, Senator Goldfinch is expected to make a full recovery. He also endorsed Tim Scott in the 2024 United States presidential election.
