Speedy Oteria Long (born June 16, 1928) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Louisiana. He represented Louisiana’s 8th Congressional District and served four terms in Congress. Long’s tenure in the U.S. House began on January 4, 1965, and concluded on January 3, 1973, marking an eight-year period of legislative service at the federal level.1
