His leadership extended to various community initiatives, including serving as a principal in the consulting firm Gubb & Bongartz, which focuses on empowering nonprofits to achieve their goals.
Bongartz has also been deeply involved in education and community development. He served on the board of Burr and Burton Academy for nearly two decades, including 15 years as its chair. Additionally, he is a founder and the current chair of the Northshire Community Land Trust, an organization dedicated to affordable housing and sustainable development. His dedication to fostering economic opportunity is evident in his role as chair of Grow America, a nationwide nonprofit organization.
