Scott Doody was unanimously appointed by the Republican 118th Representative District Committee on June 25, 2026, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Representative Paul Jacobs, and he serves the remainder of that term in the 104th Illinois General Assembly. He had won the Republican primary for the district on March 17, 2026. Doody lives in Anna and is a lifelong resident of Union County. He runs a business restoring classic cars and previously worked in local media production and private security.
