Ryan Maher (Republican Party) is a member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 28. He assumed office on January 10, 2017, and his current term ends on January 14, 2025. Maher is also running for election to the South Dakota House of Representatives to represent District 28A.

Biography:

  • Education: Maher earned his B.S. in accounting from Black Hills State University in 2000. He later received his M.S. in banking from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking in 2007.

    • Member of the Isabel School Board from 2002 to 2007.
    • Auditor for the Office of Inspector General, United States Department of Health, from 2000 to 2002.
    • County executive director for Farm Service Agency from 2002 to 2004.
