Russell Bedsole is an American politician and law enforcement officer serving as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from the 49th district. He was elected in November 2020, and he assumed office on December 7, 2020.

Born on October 26, 1975, Bedsole earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Public Administration from Troy University. His career experience includes working as a captain in the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. He was also a member of the Alabaster, Alabama City Council.

In addition to his political career, Bedsole has served as a board member of KenyaRelief.org and as a public relations chair for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. His commitment to public service is evident in his various roles and contributions.

As a legislator, Bedsole has been assigned to several committees including the State Government Committee and the Boards, Agencies and Commissions Committee. His legislative work is guided by his experiences and his commitment to serving the people of Alabama.
