Biography

Robert Rodriguez is an American politician from the state of Colorado. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Rodriguez was elected to the 32nd district of the Colorado Senate in 2018 after winning a majority of the vote. He currently serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Legal Service, Judiciary Committee, Legislative Audit Committee, and is Chair of the Business, Labor, and Technology Committee.

On September 8, 2023, Rodriguez’s colleagues elected him senate majority leader following Dominick Moreno’s resignation from the senate. He assumed office on January 4, 2019. His current term ends on January 13, 2027. Rodriguez ran for re-election to the Colorado State Senate to represent District 32 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Rodriguez was born in New Mexico and moved to Colorado at the age of four. He started his career in a file room and eventually became a senior analyst in the insurance industry.
