Rick Scarbrough is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 33. He assumed office on November 5, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 3, 2026.

Rick Scarbrough has a distinguished background in law enforcement and public service. Before entering politics, he served for 23 years with the Clinton Police Department, spending the last 16 years as Chief of Police. His career in law enforcement began with six years at the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department. Scarbrough’s dedication to public safety earned him recognition as the Police Chief of the Year for the State of Tennessee in 2014. He also holds leadership positions in various professional organizations, including the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Scarbrough has been actively involved in community service. He has served on the boards of organizations such as the United Way of Anderson County and the Emory Valley Center. His commitment to education and professional development is evident in his academic achievements; he holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College. Scarbrough is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has participated in senior leadership seminars hosted by the College of Policing in England.

Rick Scarbrough is deeply rooted in his community. He and his wife, Mollie, a pharmacist and co-owner of Hoskins Drug Store, have two daughters, Natalie and Rachel. The family is actively involved in their local church, First Baptist Church of Clinton. Scarbrough’s dedication to his family, community, and public service continues to guide his work as a legislator, where he focuses on issues such as public safety, healthcare, and supporting local businesses.
