Richard L. Yow, born on October 28, 1974, is an American politician representing the 53rd District in the South Carolina House of Representatives. A native of charming, historic Cheraw, South Carolina, Yow grew up in the shadow of his granddaddy’s store, Lloyd Jones’ Grocery. His upbringing instilled in him a love for God, country, and the understanding that our greatest treasure as Americans is our freedom.

Yow is an Air Force veteran and retired from the Air National Guard, where he specialized in power production. Currently, he resides in Chesterfield County and serves as the pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Chesterfield.
