Rebecca Edgeworth, a member of the Republican Party, serves in the Nevada State Assembly representing District 35. She assumed office on November 6, 2024, and her current term is set to end on November 4, 2026.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Rebecca Edgeworth is a third-generation Nevadan with deep roots in her community. She pursued her education at the University of South Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2000 and an M.D. in 2004. Her career as a physician has been marked by a steadfast commitment to improving healthcare access and addressing the needs of underserved populations.
Rebecca’s professional journey includes serving as the Medical Director at Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free medical care to individuals who cannot afford it. She has also been actively involved with Touro University Nevada, where she holds the position of Assistant Professor and Medical Director for the School of Physician Assistant Studies. In this role, she has been instrumental in fostering partnerships for the university’s mobile healthcare clinic, which serves hundreds of underserved and homeless individuals annually.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has demonstrated a passion for community service and a dedication to addressing pressing healthcare challenges. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted her ability to provide critical care to vulnerable populations while mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Her efforts have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as a Healthcare Hero by Nevada Business magazine and the prestigious TCUS Presidential Award for Faculty Excellence.
