Biography

RALPH M. PAIEWONSKY was born in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on November 9, 1907. He graduated from New York University. He served on the Municipal Council of St. Thomas and St. John from 1936-46. Paiwonsky was appointed Governor to the Virgin Islands by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 and served until 1969.
