Peter Strand is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 63. Born in San Francisco, California, in 1965, Peter grew up with a strong sense of community and a passion for education. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Occidental College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. His commitment to learning and teaching led him to further his education at Lesley University, where he obtained a Master of Education degree in 1993.

Before entering politics, Peter devoted his career to education, working as a teacher in public schools. His professional experience includes years of service with Bozeman Public Schools, where he became a respected figure in the community. He has also been actively involved with the Montana Federation of Public Employees, advocating for the rights and well-being of educators and public workers.

Peter’s journey into politics was driven by his desire to make a broader impact on his community. In the 2024 general election, he ran as a Democratic candidate for the Montana House of Representatives and won a decisive victory. He officially assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end in January 2027.
