Norman Crow is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 63. Crow was first elected in a special election on January 13, 2026, defeating Democrat Judith Taylor with roughly 64 percent of the vote. The seat had opened when Representative Cynthia Almond resigned after being appointed president of the Alabama Public Service Commission. Crow was the only Republican to qualify for the race in June 2025, so no party primary was needed.1
A Tuscaloosa native, Crow holds an accounting degree from the University of Alabama and is a certified public accountant. In 2004 Crow founded the freight company D.T. Freight, LLC, and later served as its president. Crow has chaired the boards of the United Way of West Alabama and of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, and was chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority in 2022 and 2023.
Crow served on the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education from 2013 to 2017. Governor Robert Bentley named Crow to the Alabama Workforce Council in 2014, and Governor Kay Ivey appointed Crow to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education in 2017; Crow remained on both bodies through 2022. In March 2021 Crow was elected to the Tuscaloosa City Council from District 3, again succeeding Almond, who had held that seat for four terms, and was returned without opposition in 2025. Crow’s move to the House required giving up the council seat, which led to a separate special election for that post.
