Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Murphy now resides in Merrimack, New Hampshire. She completed her high school education at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton, Massachusetts. Following this, she pursued higher education at Boston University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Murphy’s professional career has been diverse and impactful. She has worked as a registered nurse, primarily in pediatrics, mental health, and child protection. Her experience in these fields has given her a unique perspective on healthcare and social issues, which she brings to her role in the House of Representatives.
