Monty Fritts, born on December 10, 1963, is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He represents the 32nd district in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Education:

  • B.S. in chemistry/business from Liberty University
  • M.A. in theological studies from Liberty University
  • M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee (2011)

Political Career:

  • In August 2022, Fritts won the Republican primary election for the 32nd district.
  • In November 2022, he secured victory in the general election.
  • He succeeded Kent Calfee.
  • Notably, on April 5, 2023, he voted to move a bill forward to arm teachers.
  • On April 11, 2024, Fritts was one of only two house members who voted against bills SB 1917 and HB 2041, which aimed to ban marriage between biological first cousins. The bills were subsequently approved by the House and Senate.

Fritts continues to serve as a representative, advocating for his constituents in District 32.
