Biography

Mike Reese is an American politician and businessman from the state of Louisiana. Born on December 22, 1975, Reese is a real estate businessman from Leesville in Vernon Parish in western Louisiana. He is a member of the Republican Party.

Reese has represented the Louisiana State Senate’s 30th district, which covers much of the state’s western border with Texas, since 2020. He was first elected in 2019 with 51% of the vote, succeeding term-limited fellow Republican John R. Smith. His current term ends on January 10, 2028.

In addition to his political career, Reese is a community and business leader. He is involved with a number of business operations focusing on logistics, warehousing, and commercial real estate development. Reese has served as the Chairman of Fort Polk Progress since its founding in 2006.

Reese is a graduate of Leesville High School and a native of Vernon Parish. He is married to Morgan and they have two children. They reside in Leesville, Louisiana, U.S.

During his tenure, Reese has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he served as the Chairman of the Commerce, Consumer Protection, and International Affairs Committee, and the Vice Chairman of the Technology and Cybersecurity Committee, among others.

Reese’s political career is marked by his commitment to his constituents and his efforts to bring about positive change in his district and the state of Louisiana.
