Biography

Michael Alan Gottlieb, born on November 15, 1968, is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives. He represents the State’s 102nd House district.

Gottlieb was born in Hollywood, Florida. He pursued his education at George Washington University, where he earned a BA in Political Science in 1990. He then attended Nova Southeastern University, where he received his JD in 1993.

Before his political career, Gottlieb practiced in the field of Criminal Defense for 25 years. He has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is Super Lawyers rated as well. Gottlieb hopes to use his strength as a lawyer to help ensure clarity and precision in laws that are passed while he is in the legislature.

He resides in Davie, Florida with his spouse, Georgia Gottlieb of New Jersey. They have two children, Maya and Ethan. In his spare time, Gottlieb enjoys boating, fishing, running, and spending time with his family.

Gottlieb and his family routinely participate with many charitable organizations, including the South Florida Chapter of the MS Society, Debbie’s Dream Foundation Curing Stomach Cancer, Jorge Nation Foundation, The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, and TKAE charity events among others. Gottlieb is also active in Jewish Federation.
