Biography

Mazzie Christensen is a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 2. Christensen, then known as Mazzie Boyd, was first elected in 2022 after defeating incumbent Republican Randy Railsback in the August primary and taking about 82 percent of the vote in the November general election. Christensen took office in January 2023 at age 24, making Christensen one of the youngest state legislators in the country, and was re-elected without opposition in 2024.1

Christensen was born in 1998 in Stewartsville, Missouri, and grew up on a family farm. Christensen attended St. Joseph Christian School and earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Missouri Western State University. Before running for office, Christensen interned for U.S. Senator Roy Blunt, worked as a communications assistant in the congressional office of U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, was an analyst for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, and served in the White House as an executive assistant to the director of the Presidential Personnel Office. In November 2023 Christensen married Cole Christensen, a member of the North Dakota Legislature, and took the Christensen surname.

District 2 covers Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison and Worth counties in northern Missouri, and Christensen lists Bethany as home. In 2026, after considering a run for the open seat in Missouri’s 6th Congressional District being vacated by U.S. Representative Sam Graves, Christensen bowed out of the Republican primary on the last day of candidate filing and announced a decision not to seek another term in the Missouri House, citing family reasons.
