Biography

Max T. Hyde Jr. (born October 29, 1973) is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has been representing the 32nd District in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2018. Prior to his political career, Hyde founded the Hyde Law Firm. He holds a B.A. from Davidson College (1995) and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law (2000). Representative Hyde resides in Spartanburg and is the son of Max T. Hyde Sr. and Alicia Ruth Fusselle. He is married to Eliza Howell, and they have four children: Llewellyn Ruth, Max Thomas III, Eliza Rose, and Annabelle Beatrice. His civic involvement includes serving on the Spartanburg County Commission for Higher Education and being a member of the Rotary Club of Spartanburg.
