Matthew Gergely is a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 35. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He assumed office on February 21, 2023, and his current term ends on November 30, 2024.

Gergely ran in a special election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent District 35. He won in the special general election on February 7, 2023.

He was born and raised in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and graduated from McKeesport Area High School. He furthered his education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2002.

Before his political career, Gergely worked in finance and municipal government. His career experience includes working in finance and municipal government.

As a representative, he has been assigned to several committees including Consumer Protection, Technology & Utilities Subcommittee on Utilities, Game & Fisheries, Insurance, and Liquor Control Subcommittee on Marketing State Government.
