Biography

Robert Lee James, born on November 20, 1948, is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He has been representing the 64th District since 2013.

James graduated from Oil City High School and then served for six years as an active duty member of the United States Navy. After his discharge, he enrolled in Clarion University, earning a bachelor’s degree. He worked in commercial banking for a decade before returning to Clarion to receive a master’s in business administration. James later worked as an investment manager.

In his political career, James currently sits on the Appropriations, Environmental Resources & Energy, Local Government, Tourism & Recreational Development committees. He has more than 40 years of experience as a local businessman, working in both the banking and investment management sectors. He is dedicated to creating policies that empower local employers to create good-paying jobs for workers.

His district, the 64th Legislative District, consists of part of Crawford County including the city of Titusville and the townships of Oil Creek, Rome, Steuben and Troy and the boroughs of Hydetown and Townville and all of Venango County.
