Born on February 27, 1969, in Anderson, South Carolina, Gilreath has deep roots in the community he now serves. He is the son of Ronald Lee and Joanne Woodham Gilreath. After graduating from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992, he embarked on a career as a business owner, founding Earth Materials Grading, Inc. in 1996. His professional experience has given him insight into the challenges faced by small businesses and the importance of fostering economic growth.

Gilreath also has a history of military service, having served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1987 to 1995. This experience has shaped his commitment to public service and his understanding of the sacrifices made by those who serve their country.

In his personal life, Gilreath is married to Paula Roberts, and together they have two children, Thomas Weston and Harper LeeAnne. His family values and dedication to his community are evident in his legislative priorities, which focus on education, infrastructure, and supporting local businesses.
