Biography

KIRK WHITE of Bethel, Windsor County, was born in Randolph, VT and raised in Bethel on the old family farm where he still lives. He graduated from UVM in 1984 with a BA in psychology and religion, from Johnson State College in 1996 with an MA in counseling, and from the Green Mountain Institute in 1995 with a certificate in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Occupation: licensed acupuncturist, author/lecturer, and event site rentals. He founded the Bethel Revitalization Initiative and co-founded Bethel University. He has been president of the Bethel Business Association and Bethel Area Rotary Club, currently serves on the Board of Civil Authority, and is very active at the state and local levels in Freemasonry. He is always interested in exploring alternative ways of seeing and doing things and applying creative problem-solving to the challenges facing small Vermont towns. He lives with his wife of over 25 years and an assortment of pets.
