Biography

Kevin O’Hearn is a Wyoming politician who currently serves as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives from the 59th district. Born around 1963, O’Hearn joined the Army National Guard in 1980. He earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Montana State University, Excelsior University, and the University of Wyoming Extension. O’Hearn served two tours in the Iraq War and retired from the Army National Guard in 2012 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

In addition to his military service, O’Hearn has owned a small construction and remodeling business for over 30 years. He also got involved in local politics in Mills, Wyoming, where he served as the town’s building inspector and assistant town planner.

On July 28, 2020, O’Hearn was appointed by the Natrona County Commission to fill the vacancy in the Wyoming House of Representatives left by Bunky Loucks. The commission selected O’Hearn due to his experience in local government. He was sworn in and took office on July 30, 2020. In the 2020 Republican primary for the 59th district, O’Hearn won with 45% of the vote and went on to win the general election against Democratic nominee Mike Gilmore.

Kevin O’Hearn is married, has six children, and is Catholic.
