Karen Simpson is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 3. She assumed office on January 11, 2023. Her current term ends on January 13, 2027. Simpson ran for election to the Maryland House of Delegates to represent District 3. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Karen Simpson was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and lives in Frederick. She earned a B.S. in psychology from Radford University and an M.A. in community counseling from Towson State University. She also became a certified professional of talent development. Her career experience includes working as the Maryland State Retirement Agency education and training manager, for Child Protective Services, as a deputy director of campaign finance, and as a small business owner. In 2005, Simpson became a member of Teamsters 355.

She is a member of the Judiciary Committee, Family and Juvenile Law Subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee. She is also a member of Women Legislators of Maryland, and Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus.

Her compensation includes a base salary of $52,343/year and a per diem of $108/day for lodging and $63/day for meals.
