Biography

Julie Yamamoto is a dedicated and experienced public servant who represents District 11A in the Idaho House of Representatives. She is a member of the Republican Party and has been serving in her current position since December 1, 2022. Her current term ends on December 1, 2024.

Born and raised in Nampa, Idaho, Julie is a lifelong resident of Canyon County. She has a deep connection to her community and has dedicated her life to serving it. She graduated from Vallivue High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the College of Idaho. She also holds an Ed.D. from the University of Idaho.

Before entering politics, Julie had a rewarding career as an educator and school administrator. Her passion for education is evident in her work as a legislator, where she serves on several committees related to education, environment, energy, technology, resources, and conservation.

In addition to her work in the Idaho State Legislature, Julie is also actively involved in community service. She has served as a course facilitator with Love Inc., the chair of Operation School Bell at the Assistance League of Boise Canyon County Branch, and a member of the Caldwell Youth master planning committee.

Julie is married to Leland Sasaki. Together, they have made a significant impact on their community through their professional work and volunteer efforts.

Julie’s dedication to her community, her commitment to education, and her passion for public service make her an invaluable member of the Idaho House of Representatives.
