Rep. Johnny Rye is serving his fourth term in the Arkansas House. He represents District 36 which includes portions of Poinsett and Mississippi counties.
For the 94th General Assembly, Rep. Rye serves on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee and the House City, County, and Local Affairs Committee. Rep. Rye also serves on the Joint Auditing Committee.
He is a graduate of Arkansas State University.
Rep. Rye served as the Assessor for Poinsett County from 1991-2016. During much of that time, he served on the board for the Association of Arkansas Counties. He also served on the legislative committee for the association.
He is active in the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge. He served as District Governor for the Arkansas Lions Club.
Rep. Rye resides in Truman with his wife Julie. He has one daughter and one grandson.
