Biography

John MacDonald is an American politician who serves as a Republican member for the Carroll 6th district of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 5, 2018, and his current term ends on December 4, 2024.

John MacDonald has had a distinguished 30-year career in Law Enforcement before entering politics. He retired from the New Hampshire State Police as a Detective. His educational background includes a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College and a JD Degree from the Massachusetts School of Law.

In addition to his service in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, MacDonald has been involved in local government. He served as the Chairman of the Town of Wolfeboro Budget Committee. He represents the towns of Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro.

In the New Hampshire House of Representatives, MacDonald is a part of the Municipal and County Government Committee, where he holds the position of Clerk. The committee is responsible for considering all matters pertaining to town, city, and county officers; changes in municipal and county government; the boundary lines of towns, cities, and counties; the creation of new towns, cities, and counties; local revenue, including fees, property taxes, and exemptions; and such other matters as may be referred to it.

John MacDonald is a proud father of three adult children and a grandfather to two grandchildren.
