Biography

John Valcoulon Le Moyne (born November 17, 1828) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Illinois. He represented Illinois’s 3rd Congressional District and served a single term in Congress during the Forty-fourth Congress. His tenure in the U.S. House began on December 6, 1875, and concluded on March 3, 1877.

Le Moyne’s service as a representative from Illinois placed him in national office during the mid-1870s, a period of post–Civil War reconstruction and political realignment. As a Democrat representing the 3rd District, he served one term before leaving office, after which he held no further congressional role.
