Biography

Joe Henry Eagle (born January 23, 1870) was an American politician who represented the state of Texas in the United States House of Representatives. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 8th Congressional District. His congressional career began on April 7, 1913, and continued until January 3, 1937, spanning a total of seven terms in office.

During his tenure in Congress, Eagle served as a Representative at the federal level throughout a period that covered World War I, the 1920s, and much of the Great Depression era. Identified in historical records as a former officeholder, he is noted primarily for his long service in the House on behalf of Texas’s 8th District.
