Jim Snodgrass is a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Merrimack District 28. He assumed office on December 4, 2024, and his current term is set to end on December 2, 2026.
Jim Snodgrass has had a long-standing commitment to public service and community engagement. Before entering politics, he served as the Executive Director of Second Start, a nonprofit education organization based in West Concord, for an impressive 48 years. His dedication to education and community development earned him recognition as the Concord Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2021. Jim’s passion for government and public service stems from his academic background in political science and his active involvement in various nonprofit boards throughout his career.
Jim’s decision to run for the New Hampshire legislature was inspired by the passing of his close friend and predecessor, Art Ellison, in the spring of 2024. He stepped up to continue the legacy of service and representation for the people of Merrimack District 28. Jim’s campaign focused on education, community development, and ensuring that the voices of his constituents are heard in the state legislature.
Outside of his professional and political life, Jim is a family-oriented individual. He and his wife share a blended family of six children and ten grandchildren, who keep them busy and bring immense joy to their lives. In his leisure time, Jim enjoys playing golf with his wife, a hobby that allows them to relax and connect amidst their busy schedules.
