JAMES W. “JIM” MASLAND of Thetford, Orange County, Democrat, became a resident of present town in 1979. Occupation: Work-based learning consultant, builder. He was educated at Hanover Elementary, Hanover, New Hampshire; Williston Academy, Easthampton, Massachusetts; BA Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, M.S. Stanford School of Engineering. He is married to Suzanne, and they have five daughters and two sons. Member of: Upper Valley Habitat, Site Supervisor/Project Manager; Trustee, Vermont State Colleges; Two Rivers Ottauquechee Regional Planning Commission; Thetford selectboard, 1987-2000; Vermont League of Cities and Towns, 1991-1994 (president, 1992-93); ECFiber Executive Committee; Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation; Vermont Institute for Government; VISTA Volunteer, 1973-74; Vermont Leadership Institute ‘05.
