Jesse Sumner is a member of the Republican Party and is currently serving in the Alaska House of Representatives, representing District 28. He assumed office on January 17, 2023, and his current term ends on January 21, 2025.

Sumner ran for election to the Alaska House of Representatives to represent District 28 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Prior to this, he also ran in a special election to the U.S. House to represent Alaska’s At-Large Congressional District, but did not appear on the ballot for the special primary on June 11, 2022.

Born in Palmer, Alaska, Sumner earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2007. His career experience includes working as the owner and operator of Sumner Company Homes.

In addition to his role as a representative, Sumner has sponsored several bills and has been assigned to various committees. Some of the bills he has sponsored include HB 84, HB 93, HB 121, HB 133, HB 150, HB 187, HB 192, HB 197, HB 203, HB 222, and HB 226.
