Jerry T. Carter (born April 10, 1952) is an American politician. He represents the 3rd District in the South Carolina House of Representatives, a position he has held since 2020. Carter is a member of the Republican party.

Before entering politics, Carter earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Atlantic Christian College. His career also includes serving as the CEO of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).

Carter’s dedication to public service has been recognized through endorsements during his 2020 campaign. Notable supporters included the Conservation Voters of South Carolina, the South Carolina Fund for Children, Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark, and Clemson Mayor J.C. Cook III.
