Jason Gearhart is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 64. He assumed office on January 1, 2025, and his current term ends on January 1, 2027. Gearhart is also an officeholder of the Starmont Community School District, At-large in Iowa. He ran for election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 64 and won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Gearhart served five years in the U.S. Army as a military police officer and investigator. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of duty and commitment to his community. After his military service, he continued to serve his community by joining the Strawberry Point City Council. He has also been a board member for the Strawberry Point Chamber of Commerce and the Jr. Stars Athletics Organization.
In addition to his political career, Gearhart works as an Environmental Specialist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR). His work with the DNR reflects his dedication to preserving Iowa’s natural resources and ensuring a sustainable future for the state.
Gearhart’s commitment to public service is evident in his involvement in various standing committees in the Iowa House of Representatives. He serves on the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Public Safety, and Veterans Affairs committees, and he is the Vice Chair of the Veterans Affairs committee. His work on these committees allows him to address important issues affecting his constituents and the state of Iowa.
